The MERILab and MERILab Ltd. Data Collection system provides customers with improved information collection through an interface between various production stations throughout the plant, facilitating system and service management. It connects the alignment process to associated equipment and systems such as preset and audit machines. It also provides the means of acquiring and disseminating information to improve management and control of the final assembly process. An optional direct link to MERILab engineers makes the Data Collection system a DataWeb System.
The DataWeb System takes the data obtained by the Data Collection system and sends it via e-mail to MERILab where automatic reports are generated and analyzed by alignment experts who then notify the customers of any significant trends. For example, they can alert operators to perform calibrations pro-actively before values reach specified limits, thereby facilitating the reduction of reactive re-calibrations.

Merilab realized early the need for adaptive and robust software. This knowledge is why Merilab was first to write its software for the Windows operating system in 1991. There have been many developments and improvements over the years to reach our current version MAX3. The Merrill Alignment Computer Control System (MAX3) represents the culmination of our 48 years of first hand alignment experience, customer input from engineering and plant personnel and our visionary outlook toward the future needs of the industry.
The greatest benefit of Max3 is in its modular design. Max3 consists of over 140 program modules. This modular system allows MAX3 to be easily customized for each installation. Some modules interface with alignment tools to measure caster or steering wheel angle. Other modules communicate with plant information systems to acquire VIN and model information. Reporting modules can send SPC information to a manufacturers data collection system or to a ticket printer.
To the customer, this means if a new device is added, or a new measurement is needed, with a few clicks of the mouse the module is usually installed and ready for use without affecting other aspects the current program. Many times this is done without the expense of a service call. The system’s modular nature is so versatile that it is used with both laser preset and laser wheel alignment machines alike. This provides the advantage of having a consistent and familiar user interface for all machines. This makes MAX3 software very beneficial to facility engineering, maintenance and production personnel. Above all, MAX3 contains MERILab’s proprietary and powerful alignment algorithms. Unlike MERILab, all other alignment manufacturers tend to use software written by the camera manufacturer. This provides marked advantages for MERILab in accuracy and robustness over the competition.
MERILab’s MAX3 software is very user friendly and informative. It has a clear and simple operator interface and can be customized to suit the users needs. The software offers many different layouts and colors depending on our customer’s preferences. Our modern HMI interface and alignment cycle status screen will enhance the ability of maintenance personnel to support the equipment. Trouble-shooting time can be reduced by 50% in most cases. MERILab offers a complete end of the line solution: Wheel Aligner, Head Light Aimer and Roll Test. In addition to this, we also offer our Camber Caster Preset Equipment. The MAX3 software supports all of these machines. Merilab and our MAX3 software are ready to meet all your alignment needs now and into the future. |
